The Mooring Minute: Because I Said I Would!

The Mooring Minute: Because
Because I said I would is a special commitment we all make to each other. A crew makes a commitment to the skipper, the diver makes a commitment to getting the work done in time for race day and the boat committee makes a commitment for us to have a great race day.  We each make a commitment to the other during each maneuver on the racecourse. When one makes a hail to tack or cross or to give room, wee are each working to fulfill promises and commitments to each other and our word. Your crew follows the gameplan all because they said we would.
Sailing teaches us to honor our commitments because we are part of something bigger than ourselves!
As I always say, sailing begins and ends with people! Often we are part of a team and as a team, our contribution is bigger then each us and conversely, if we don’t show up the consequence is equally the same, the team won’t function without our contribution. As in boating our commitment is our commitment we do what we do because we said we would!

So untie the ties which are holding you back and head out and build your legacy one race at a time!
