Mooring Minute: Feelings and Fears

Like it or not, everyone shares the same feelings and fears, and yes most of us are introverts, what differentiates each of us is the story we tell ourselves. They say everything we see, is a product of what we make-up, it is a story we are telling ourselves. The difference between those who do and those who don’t is the story they tell themselves, the doer’s give themselves the permission to go and do. Everyone is uncomfortable, it is up to each of us to rescue those around us, to be the first to say hi, to reach out a hand, to be gracious, to be proactive, to start the conversation. They say the higher you rise the more human you become. Everyone has their own unique story, your imperfection is your perfection, your adversity gives you the strength to do superhuman feats. Its what makes you, well you!

In sailing, we crave explanations for most everything, although innovation and progress happen when we allow ourselves to embrace uncertainty and to head out and just do. And nothing teaches you more about doing and working together as a team then time spent perfecting your craft under the stress of doing it right. So head out, and build your legacy on race, one score at a time. So untie the ties which are holding back and head out and build your legacy.
