Walter has sailed competitively and recreationally since he was 12. Walter has an accomplished boating resume having won numerous races locally, nationally and internationally, where he is considered one of the top sailors in the country. While sailing, Walter also had a successful career in real estate development.
Walter writes a weekly boating message, “the Mooring Minute”, he currently is an active member and serves on race councils for both the Balboa Yacht Club BYC and the Lido Isle Yacht Club. Walter hosts and chairs many charity regattas and is always actively seeking to grow the boating community.

Jeff is a native Californian from Huntington Harbor where his family started boating a the early age of 6 years old sailing his Sabot and Lido14. As a teenager, Jeff bought himself a P-Cat Catamaran and proceeded to become the first 3 time National Champion. Chris was introduced to sailing by his father at an early age and his family cruised primarily in England Europe and The Caribbean. When his family moved to San Diego in 1980, Chris caught the race bug and began to actively campaign in the Santana 20 Class then started crewing and skippering boats in the IOR, MORC and PHRF Fleets.
Since then, Chris has racked up 13 National titles, 6 North American Championships and placed at several World Championship events. In 2002, he was awarded the San Diego Association of Yacht Clubs, 'Yachtsman of the Year' and was awarded in Seattle, 'Sailor of the Year' in 2006. He is an active member of Mission Bay Yacht Club where he works with the board to promote events and bring more people into the boating family.

Gene Prizer began his sailing life in Marina Del Rey and San Pedro at the age of 13. This was the start of an obsession that defined much of his life. Due to his passion and his focus on performance, Gene’s racing resume includes countless West Coast regattas as well as offshore races to Cabo San Lucas, Ensenada (1st in class – 6 times), Manzanillo, Mazatlan (1 st in class), Puerto Vallarta, and Honolulu.
Gene also has a passion for introducing new people to sailing and the wonderful sailing lifestyle. He is grateful for the extraordinary experiences that sailing has brought to his own life, and is always enthusiastic in sharing his knowledge with others. Lee is an avid sailor and yachtsman whose passion for boating began at a young age growing up on the East Coast. He bought his first boat, a 16’ runabout, as a teenager and used it to explore the Long Island Sound. He moved to Southern California at the age of 19 and bought a 23’ Chris Craft Cavalier with a friend, spending the next several months living aboard it on the shores of Catalina Island. After meeting his wife Linda, the Stanley’s chartered sailboats locally and in the Caribbean. The experience was so profound that Lee wrote articles and produced a series of documentaries. His most notable, The Desperate Passage Series, was about his experience with juvenile prisoners who were released solely into his custody for 10-day expeditions aboard his 58’ ketch, Minots Light. This series was nominated for 33 Emmy Awards and won 13.
A proud cancer survivor, Lee underwent a successful surgery in 2009 and decided to fulfill a lifelong dream of living abroad. He and his wife spent the next eight years cruising the globe and living a true luxury coastal lifestyle. Lee resides in Newport Beach and is excited to be a part of Walter Johnson Yachts, helping clients fulfill their own dreams of a life on the water.

John first learned to sail a sabot at the age five in Honolulu, Hawaii. That was the start of his personal interest and passion for sailing. And since then he has owned several sailboats, including a classic Norwegian Sloop, named Oslo 1.
John later sailed competitively in Newport Harbor. He has raced along the California Coast and around Catalina Island, and has competed several times in the Newport to Ensenada Race.
Today John is the proud owner of a Classic 1941 Chris-Craft Barrel-back Deluxe Runabout, Miss Fallen Leaf. She is a Concours d’Elegance and an International Antique and Classic Boat Society Award Winner.
John’s primary focus is marketing Classic Wooden Boats within the continental United States. He is dedicated to preserving these historical classic boats.

For as long as Jerry can remember, he has had a passion for water. Becoming a certified scuba diver over 40 years ago led him to his love of boating and fishing. In 1991 he began his career in boat sales while living in Vancouver, BC, selling close to 80 runabouts and cruisers in his first year. He quickly moved into yacht sales and spent the next several years selling everything from 18’ runabouts to 120’ mega yachts. His extensive knowledge in the electrical and mechanical systems of watercrafts allows him the opportunity to provide a highly competent level of service to his clients.
In 2000, he and his wife moved to Southern California for the sand and sunshine, and they have been living the luxury coastal lifestyle ever since. Steve is a lifelong Southern California sailor, and grew up in Long Beach, CA. He is an accomplished yachtsman, competing his entire life in many competitive events, including the 1981 J-24 World Championships in Sydney-Australia, 6 Transpacific Yacht Races from Los Angeles to Honolulu, and over 30 races from Southern California to various destinations in Mexico including Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, Manzanillo and Ensenada. Steve has owned several racing and cruising sailboats since 1980 and right now is enjoying time on his restored 1974 Cal 29, Honu, based in Long Beach, CA. He is also currently racing radio control sailboats around the US and locally. Steve was a member of the varsity sailing team at the University of California at Irvine from 1974 until he graduated in 1978. He is currently a member of the Transpacific and Seal Beach Yacht Clubs. In addition to racing and cruising, Steve also participates as a race committee member at many high-profile events and class championships around the US and beyond including Barbados Sailing Week.
Steve also is the founder and editor of his website www.socalsailingnews.com where he covers sailing events and other sailing stories of interest in Southern California and nationally as well, when SoCal sailors travel to prestigious events.

Chris Allen is a Newport Beach native and his love of the water began when he started racing sailboats at the age of nine. He continues to enjoy sailboat racing, and is also very active in the local sportfishing and international big game sportfishing community.
He has been a licensed yacht broker for over 40 years and has enjoyed building lasting relationships with the people he has helped buy and sell yachts.
